Bonjour or Bonsoir
(good morning/afternoon or good evening)
Well the time is here. The planning is complete and in just few short days, the dancing will commence for Fall Festival 2011. The event will
kick off on Friday Oct 7. Doors for the event open at 5:15. Members of the club are encouraged to bring baked goods for the bake sale-taking
place throughout the weekend. The first workshop will feature Brian and Lynette Dawley teaching the triple two-step at 6:00pm. Jerry and
Kathy Nusz will follow with a line dance and then Brian and Lynette will do a partner side by side Waltz and finishing off the instructions for
the evening will be Jess Acker teaching the West Coast Swing. If you are a follower of who gets the boot award, the club has chosen
to present this award on Friday evening. After the awards and announcements the club will be spinning some
tunes off their newly purchased computer. Currently, there are more than 800 country songs stored on the system. Songs range from old to
the most current music. So all you country dancers dust off them their boots and be prepared to dance the night away.
Saturday Oct 8, the doors will open again at 8:15am and classes begin at 9:00am. So now would be a good time to catch up on your sleep.
For next weekend you will need every bit of energy you can find. The schedule is grueling with 8 hours of workshops (but it will be well
worth it). The evening will bring performances from the dance instructors, with a special presentation/lesson on the Tush Push by the creator
of the dance. The band for the evening is Battle Creek Station where admission to the dance is free with a paid full registration.
Yep, you get all this for $60.00 per person. For an additional $5.00 you can record the dance moves of the instructors. The Club will not be
creating a CD of this years event. So if you want to record the moves bring you cameras.
Don’t be left to wonder! Mark your calendars and come on out to the Moose next weekend.
Don’t think we have your favorite song. Feel free to bring it and request it. All we ask is that you allow us to store it on the system for
future use.
